About the Producer - FAG

FAG (Fischers Aktien-Gesellschaft), a leading manufacturer in bearing technology and part of the Schaeffler Group, has been synonymous with precision and reliability for decades. With a legacy of innovation and commitment to quality, FAG continues to set the standard in spindle bearing technology.

What are FAG Spindle Bearings?

FAG spindle bearings are mechanical components engineered for high-speed machining and precision applications. These bearings fall in the super precision category.

Especially used for machine tools and some printing machines, this product range provides the capability of using technically innovative, operationally secure and economical bearing arrangements which result in considerable performance improvements and cost savings.

Where are FAG Spindle Bearings Made?

Being part of the Schaeffler Group, the main factories are located in Germany. However, FAG spindle bearings are also produced in locations across the world that include Europe, Asia, Brazil, USA and Canada.

You can learn where your FAG spindle bearings are made by looking at the marking as described down below.

FAG Spindle Bearings Tolerances

FAG spindle bearings are designed and manufactured to very tight tolerances. This makes them suitable for high-speed applications such as machine tools where they play a vital role in the performance, quality, and stability of the machining process.

The high precision obtained by these tight tolerances makes FAG spindle bearings the best choice for the main spindles in machine tools since they guarantee the highest possible guidance accuracy.

Types of FAG Spindle Bearings

Explore our comprehensive range of FAG spindle bearings, tailored to meet the diverse needs of precision machining:

Super Precision Angular Contact Ball Bearings

Designed for high-speed applications, FAG angular contact ball bearings offer superior performance and rigidity. These are the workhorses of FAG's spindle bearing range, offering exceptional running accuracy and high-speed capability.

Super Precision Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Ideal for heavy-duty machining, FAG cylindrical roller bearings provide exceptional load-carrying capacity and reliability. Therefore, these bearings are a great choice when the highest precision is required under high load.

Super Precision Axial Bearings

Super precision axial bearings, also known as axial angular contact ball bearings, are a specialized type of FAG spindle bearing designed for applications requiring high precision and axial load carrying capacity. These bearings are specifically engineered to accommodate axial loads in one direction while providing high precision and rigidity.

Hybrid Spindle Bearings

Combining ceramic balls with steel races, these bearings excel in high-speed environments with minimal heat generation and wear. This design reduces the strain on the lubricant and makes the bearings insensitive to lubricant starvation. The results is a longer operation life.

About the author

Jure Pleško is co-owner of Tuli, a family business that helps innovative mechanical engineers by supplying them with machine elements to assemble machines and devices. As part of a family tradition, he grew up with machine elements from an early age and also completed his studies in mechanical engineering, earning a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. As a 2-year-old child he was also the inspiration for the company name, because at that time he was shouting a lot and hence the name Tuli, which in translation means screaming. Jure is an innovative mechanical engineer himself, which he proved during his student years with the construction of an electric vehicle, which was also awarded by the Slovenian Fund for Human Resources Development and Scholarships.
